The Harborough 5 - Tuesday June 3rd
The Harborough 5 is generally recognised as one of the faster courses in the EMGP series. Seventeen Silson runners crossed the border into Leicestershire to take part. Club wise the race positions were hotly contested. James Spencer had an excellent run 110th in 33.33 and first across the line for Silson. 10 seconds further back were the Heleys, Helen 112th and Toby 113th. Rosemary Heley continued to do well in the U20 women’s age group 272nd in 41.55. Ever present Kim Froggitt was 354th timing 50.13.
The Weedon 10k - Tuesday June 17th
The heat was on in more ways than one, on the notoriously hilly course. With a shorter distance to travel another good turn out from Silson. Mark Conway took the heat and testing course in his stride to come home 32nd in 38.16. Paul Holmes was 120th in 44.43, also running strongly Rob Pardon 196th in 49.54. Making his EMGP debut for 2025 Humphrey Marten 329th in 63.07.
The Brackley Chicken Run - Sunday June 22nd
Ten Silson runners lined up in the centre of Brackley, for a race that goes out around Turweston airfield. Although an early morning start, the temperatures remained quite high. First home for Silson was Simon Woodward 6th in 41.36 (Richard Francis was taking part to but was representing Rugby & Northampton). Paul Holmes followed in 21st 45.12. Our first lady was Nichola Green 63rd in 50.50.
Corby 5 - Wednesday June 25th EMGP & NRRL
Another long midweek trek to the north of our county. The Corby 5 starts and finishes in the East Carlton Country Park on the outskirts of the town. After a successful weekend run, Simon Woodward was on form again in 61st timing 33.17. Helen Heley was first V50 lady 74th in 33.56. Two runners who always participate for Silson Richard Popiel 120th in a time of 37.20, along with 214th place Madeleine Moutrie 46.14.
