The Cross Country season continues as Julie Hammond and Helen Heley are set to represent Northants at the Inter Counties Nottingham on March 9th.
Although moving off the bottom of Division 1, Silson failed to retain their place in the Chiltern League’s top division. Members have enjoyed some February trips, with half marathon’s and 10k’s run in the Alicante. Also taken in was a trip to the British Indoor Championships in Birmingham.

The final league fixture of the season tends to have less runners, making Silson’s task of overhauling teams above difficult. Recent rains had turned the notoriously muddy Horspath course into a quagmire. Running ahead of the women’s race at the final fixture, Mark Conway led the men home followed by Simon Storer. Helen Heley headed Julie Hammond in the ladies race, with Imogen Lancaster 3rd Silson. Both Julie Hammond and Jayne Cooper retained their individual age group bronze medals. Richard Popiel was ill and unfortunately missed out, after having a good season.

Training
Wednesday training is from Silverstone Circuit 6.30pm. For the Sunday runs follow Silson Facebook.
For the future we are looking to host winter track training sessions possibly once a month. As a trial there will be a session on Saturday March 2nd and Saturday April 8th at Stowe School 10.30am to 12pm.
