This is the first of a monthly newsletter, which will be emailed to all members, and also updated onto the Silson website. Included, will be the results and brief reports of all the previous months’ club races, along with forthcoming fixtures. If a club member wishes to have an individual race included email me a brief report to silsonsecretary@gmail.com. A road race report would require finishing times; race positions are ok for cross country races.
Chiltern League December 4th Stopsley Common Luton
Silson travelled to a windswept Stopsley Common, looking to improve on their 6th position in Division 2 of the Chiltern League. Unavailability and illness hampered this progress, with the men’s and junior teams short of numbers.
The Silson Ladies were again competitive, with Helen Heley strong in difficult conditions, receiving great support from the rest of her team. Although short of a full team, Silson Men can be proud of their individual performances. With Jim Darcy placing well, a special mention to Humphrey Marten who had a lonely race to score good points for the club. Amy Harris and Georgia Corcoran flew the flag for the Silson young athletes in a very competitive U17/U20 race.

Senior Ladies Helen Heley 11th, Julie Hammond 15th, Hannah St Ledger 23rd, Nikki Mansell 56th, Isabel Heley 59th, Fiona Storer 62nd, Leah Mansell 65th, Sally Stephens 67th, Teresa Cox 71st U17/U20 Ladies Amy Harris 12th, Georgia Corcoran 15th.
Silson remain a respectable 6th out of 29th Division 2 teams.
