Happy New Year all, I hope your Christmas was good. January is a very busy month with a race every weekend, such is the way of the athletics fixture list. The County Cross Country is also now the County Vets Championship. This follows the demise of the very long established Kettering Charity Cup races. We travel to the excellent course at Cassiobury Park, Watford for the 4th Chiltern League fixture on Saturday January 13th, this follows a disappointing result at Luton, report below. Silson still has interest in the Northants Schools, next round at Corby on January 20th. Last Saturday of the month has the Midland Cross Country at Leamington.
Chiltern Cross Country League Luton Saturday December 2nd
Lack of availability and continuing injuries, saw Silson drop to the bottom of Chiltern League Division 1, at a bitterly cold Stopsley Park, Luton. On a positive note, Silson managed full Senior teams when, during the week, it seemed doubtful. All that ran did well, with the Ladies again competitive in the higher division. Results Ladies 27th Julie Hammond, 38th Helen Heley, 70th Jayne Cooper, 90th Susan Mulligan, 100th Sue Torrance, 101st Madeleine Moutrie, 110th Kim Froggitt, 120th Sally Stephens Men 104th Simon Woodward, 105th Chris Coghlan, 152nd James Spencer, 158th Richard Popiel, 168th Charlie Purr, 179th Paul Holmes, 185th Darren Knight, 189th Ollie Meek, 198th Ben Littlejohn, 202nd Michael Spencer, 227th Humphrey Marten.
