The curtain came down on the Chiltern League season, in an uncertain manner, at Shuttleworth on Saturday. As a club progress was made over the season. The commitment of the seniors improved as the season went on, thanks to the work and enthusiasm of the team captains Paul Holmes and Julie Hammond.
Congratulations to Richard Popiel 1st over 60 male and Georgia Corcoran 1st under 20 female. Below listed are the individual Silson placings over the league season, some excellent results.

Stamford 30k Road Race - Sunday February 13th
Preparation continued for the Manchester Marathon, with this popular long distance road race. Heavy rain, strong winds and an undulating course, met the three Silson runners. All must feel their training is on track, as the times recorded were very respectable. Results Jim Darcy 2.11.46, Simon Storer 2.16.47, Hannah St Leger 2.29.58
Chiltern Cross Country League, Shuttleworth, Bedfordshire Saturday February 19th
Silson finished the season in 7th position, despite this fixture being abandoned halfway through. Having members being caught up in traffic problems around the Shuttleworth venue, Silson still had full senior teams on the course. Having full teams is so important. Sadly, the ladies didn’t get their race in.
